SUMMER CAMP1

Welcome to a world of creativity, imagination, and possibilities! The Department of Computer Science at California State University, Fresno is excited at the prospect of having you on our campus and working with you this Teenager using laptop to program robotsummer!

This is the second year that this Computer Exploration (Comp-X) Summer Camp in Robotics has been offered by the Department of Computer Science at California State University, Fresno, but this is not Dr. Liu's first time participating in such a program. We look forward to the experience of helping 7th to 12th graders learn more about Computer Science. You shall be granted the opportunity to build a robot, create the code that operates the robot, as well as demonstrate it to others.

This camp will be organized as half-day sessions for a month starting from early July. Students shall be equipped with Lego® MINDSTORMS® NXT style robotic kits and desktops. Robot construction and graphical language as well as programming languages will be introduced along with individual (e.g., Balloon Buster) and team (e.g., Simon Says via a wireless network) robotic projects. The ultimate goal is to motivate students’ interest in Computer Science by establishing creative robots and realizing entertaining projects step by step.
